Sun-Believably Good Self-Tan

Self-tan is great if its easy to use; It covers a multitude of sins (as the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pics below show!) and makes you look healthy and alive (sorry, the pale and interesting look isn’t for me). Mostly a Fake Bake girl, I’ve had a few disasters with self tanner in the past (the clear-on spray that I couldn’t really see to apply and so sprayed on so much that over the course of the next few hours my legs turned flouro-orange, for example), so if a self-tan says its fool-proof and I can use it ok, it really is fool-proof.

Sun-Believable TAN ME Self Tan Mousse (£30 / 200 ml + mitt) comes in two shades, medium and dark (the latter being a bit too dark for my liking), in a plastic zip-up pouch with a soft black mitt for application. it claims to be virtually odourless, instant-drying and very easy to apply. Marvellous.

Sun-Believable TAN ME Self Tan Mousse.

After the requisite exfoliation (a must!) I used to mitt to apply the olive-coloured mousse (initially I was slightly worried about the olive-brown guide colour. It was all fine.). Using the mitt takes a bit of getting used to – I usually use latex gloves from Boots – but its fairly easy to get the hang of and does provide nice, even coverage.

The product really is practically odour-free and blends in very easily, the guide colour showing you which bits you might have missed. You don’t need a lot either – I estimate you’d get at least 3-4 full-body applications from one bottle of the mousse (depending on your size, obviously).

Once applied, the product dries quickly so you can get dressed. I left the self-tan on overnight and showered it off in the morning. The darker guide colour washed away to leave a subtle light-medium, and very natural-looking tan. Superb.

After Sun-Believable Self Tan Mousse.

That was Saturday morning, and while, after 3 further showers, by today (Wednesday) the glow is starting to fade, it is still there in places and wearing away as a natural tan would.

All in all I would agree with the product description. Sun-Believable TAN ME Self Tan Mousse is a fab and very easy self-tanner that gives a lovely, natural glow with not very much effort. I’ll be using it again shortly.

We Love: The ease of application and lack of self-tan smell; The colour was very natural and in no way fake-looking or orange; The natural & organic product ingredients.

Not Crazy About: Nothing springs to mind. And now I’m familiar with the product, the next application will be a doddle.

SD Tip: Wash the mitt out in the shower, then peg outside to dry and use again. Simple.

The Sun-Believable range is available online and from selected John Lewis stores nationwide.
